About Dr. Kerendian

Hair Transplant

For both men and women, hair contributes significantly to ones beauty and overall appearance. Hair loss has a great psychological and social impact on people. For many years, those with hair loss turned to any measures to treat or cover their bald spots. Measures such as useless products, color sprays, or hairpieces that were neither successful nor pleasing.

Fortunately today, you can regain your own natural growing hair. Hair transplant has been performed for decades, but it was not until several years ago that this technique was advanced to the point of creating natural, undetectable, and pleasing results. This procedure is performed in the office under local anesthesia while the patient can enjoy watching television or reading a paper. A strip of a donor hair is harvested from the back of head. This area is chosen because the hair in this area is genetically programmed to stay with you forever. This strip is prepared into hundreds of single (micro-graft) and double (mini-graft) follicles that are transplanted into the balding area in a natural pattern and direction. It is important to understand that results are not seen immediately. It may take 2-3 months before the transplanted hair start to grow, and they will get longer and thicker over time. The transplanted hair grows naturally and is never lost, therefore results are permanent.

Chemical Peel

Chemical peel is a safe and effective procedure for rejuvenation of your skin. It has become very popular among those who seek non-surgical alternative to improve their appearance.

Chemical peel is not limited to the face. It can also be performed on the neck, chest, hands, and arms. Chemical peel can rejuvenate your skin by reducing blotchy and un-even pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles, freckles, age spots, and sun damaged skin in a relatively short period of time. This procedure is safely performed in office by applying a special solution to the skin which stimulated production of new skin and collagen. As one leaves the office after the procedure, there will be just slight amount of redness. Over the course of next 3-4 days, the damaged skin exfoliates gradually as the new fresh skin emerges.

The appropriate type of peel is determined by one’s skin type and the results that are desired. A skin care program before and after the treatment is necessary. It will minimize unwanted side effects, and will greatly help your skin maintain the results of the peels.

Laser Rejuvenation

Factors such as heredity, aging, sun damage, environmental toxins, and smoking result in signs of aging to appear sooner in some than others. Therefore, some people appear older than their actual age. Modern technology has created a way to turn back the hands of time and reverse years of damage in only 1-2 hours.

Laser Resurfacing is an advanced and state-of-art technique that can dramatically reduce signs of aging and sun damage for both men and women at almost any age. The laser is programmed to reach a safe and predictable dept of penetration. This procedure can successfully eliminate sun damage and wrinkled facial skin, wrinkles and lines around the mouth, skin laxity around eyelids, brown spots, and facial scaring from either acne or injury. In addition, laser stimulates the skin collagen fibers, which tightens the skin resulting in a mini-facelift. Laser resurfacing is not painful, but it requires a recovery period of 1-2 weeks before the skin redness vanishes. During this period, new skin will emerge that is pink, toned, even-colored, and free of wrinkles. Sunscreen must be used to protect the new skin while new pigment is created.

Laser resurfacing cannot stop the hands of time, but it can take your appearance back in time, often 10-20 years.

Scar Correction

When the skin is in the process of healing from an injury, whether as a result of an accident, surgery, burn, or extensive acne, scarring will occur. Once a scar forms, it is permanent and impossible to remove completely. However, they may be greatly improved so it appears less visible.

In today’s advances in plastic surgery, there are varieties of different techniques available to improve appearance of scars in any parts of the body. These methods include surgical excision folowed by meticulous repair, dermabrasion, and chemical peels. Laser and injectable skin fillers can also be utilized to improve appearance of scars. Skin type, location, and size of scar determine the method of treatment. During your consultation, Dr. Kerendian evaluates your scar and customizes a treatment program for your individual need. This may include one or a combination of complimentary techniques to obtain the best aesthetic result.

Dr. Kerendian is skilled in variety of techniques of scar revision that allows him to obtain the maximal possible correction.
