Liposuction is one of the most common cosmetic procedures
performed in the United States today. Both men and women
accumulate fat in areas that cannot be easily lost by
diet and vigorous exercises.
Liposuction is very effective technique that allows
removal of unwanted fat from any localized area in the
body. Therefore, creating a slimmer body by sculpting
a new desirable figure. Most often people turn to liposuction
to contour their abdomen, love handles, hips, inner
and outer thighs, inner knees, back, buttocks, face,
and neck. Fat removal by liposuction is permanent and
they will never come back if the body weight is kept
within reasonable range. Liposuction is performed through
tiny incisions placed in well-hidden spots, and the
resulting scars are hardly detectable. After surgery,
a compressive garment or girdle is worn to help control
swelling and allow the skin to shrink to the new contour
smoothly. Recovery is quick and most people return to
work in 2-3 days.
Liposuction is a safe procedure when performed by a
competent and well-trained surgeon. Dr.
Kerendian is experienced in the most advanced techniques
of liposuction including Tumescent technique, Ultra-sound
Assisted Liposuction, and Vibro-liposuction which allows
him to offer the best method for each individual needs.
A flat and slim abdomen is one of the most attractive
features that every man and woman desires. Unfortunately,
diet and vigorous exercises cannot reduce sagging excess
skin on the abdomen.
Events such as pregnancy, aging, rapid weight gain
or weight loss cause stretching of the abdominal skin
as well as the underlying muscles. This results not
only in visible stretch mark and loose skin, but also
in weakness and protrusion of abdominal wall. Therefore,
many still carry a “pouch” in the lower
abdomen despite loosing weight. Abdominoplasty (tummy
tuck) addresses this problem by not only removing excess
fat and skin, but also by tightening the abdominal muscles.
The outcome is often dramatic improvement that results
in slim, flat, and firm abdomen with narrower waistline.
A very low abdominal incision is made that is usually
well hidden under a bikini. Stretch marks and any prior
surgical scars in the lower abdomen including C-section
scars can be completely removed. Dr.
Kerendian also offers Minimal Incision Endoscopic
Abdominoplasty. This advanced technique uses a surgical
camera to gain access through a much smaller incision
to perform the surgery. Candidates for this procedure
are those with loose abdominal muscle and only mild
skin excess.
Among all cosmetic procedures, there is a particularly
high rate of patient satisfaction associated with abdominoplasty.
As with any other surgeries, there are potential risks
with abdominoplasty but they can be kept to a minimum
when choosing a competent and well-trained surgeon.

Hands are important contributor to youthful beauty.
They are one of the first body parts to show signs of
aging, yet they are most often neglected. Early aging
of hands occur due to constant exposure to sun and harsh
chemical agents.
With aging, fat is lost from back of hands which reveals
unsightly veins and tendons. This can be reversed by
harvesting fat from other body parts and transferring
it to the back of hands. In addition, the wrinkles and
sunspot pigmentation to skin can be reversed by chemical
peeling. Chemical peeling results in a fresh layer of
skin with even color and smoother texture. The peel
stimulates new cells which will tighten the skin and
decrease wrinkling. Just one or both procedures may
be necessary to regain the youthful and rejuvenated
hands. Like any other procedure, treatments need to
be tailored to individual needs.
Many women are self-conscious about those unsightly
veins on their legs and thighs which cause them to avoid
wearing short pants or skirts, or swimsuits. Unsightly
leg veins are grouped into two groups: Varicose Veins
and Spider Veins.
Varicose Veins are large wormlike veins which are caused
by an abnormality of valves within the veins allowing
for bi-directional flow of blood. If left untreated,
they can become painful followed by skin discoloration
and ultimately skin ulceration. Varicose veins require
careful work up and course of treatment. Treatment consists
of ligation and removal of these unnecessary veins through
small incisions that are hardly noticeable once healed.
Spider Veins are smaller in size and have no health
significance. They are only aesthetically unappealing.
Treatment consists of sclerotherapy or laser. This is
an office procedure with no recovery or down time. Sclerosing
agent is injected via a very tiny needle into the veins
that causes them to collapse and permanently disappear.
Variety of sclerosing agents is available. Concentrated
salt solution remains the most widely used and carries
the least risk of complications. Walking is encouraged
immediately after the procedure.
